Carson contends the serpent in the story represents Enki revealing forbidden knowledge to Adam and Eve rather than a literal snake, and that Enlil expelled the couple to stop their awakened consciousness spreading to other captive humans. He cites what he calls a worship gene and the fusion of human chromosome two roughly 200,000 years ago, tying it to the Tower of Babel account and a capped human lifespan. He closes by pointing to pyramids on multiple continents as evidence, in his view, of a single ancient global architect.
